Experiencing the Risen Christ Through Play

A reflection on parenthood, presence, and finding Him in the ordinary

A lot of times, we can miss the riseness of Christ in our lives because we are looking for big,

undeniable signs that He is alive.

Especially in the season of parenthood, it can feel like Christ only shows up in the big moments,

the breakthroughs, the answered prayers, the mountaintop experiences.

But the truth is, Christ is alive in every second of our lives.

If we slowed down and looked a little closer, we would find Him.

The small moments are not coincidences

All it takes is faith the size of a mustard seed to begin believing that the little signs are not

coincidences.

These small moments, so easy to overlook, are actually evidence of His presence. Over time,

they begin to add up, like pebbles forming boulders of proof that He is alive and moving.

It looks like:

Your child randomly singing Jesus Loves Me on a hard day

The exact scripture you needed showing up on your Bible app in the middle of chaos

Praying for wisdom about your children, and suddenly, clarity comes

These are not accidents.

These are glimpses of a living Savior.

Christ in you, the hope of glory

There is a mystery we do not sit with enough, and the month of April invites us to slow down

and remember it,

Christ in you, the hope of glory.

To be one with Christ, to carry Him within us.

The way you love your children reflects Him

When you play with your children,

when you serve them,

when you lay your life down for them in the quiet, unseen ways,

that is living proof that the Scriptures are true.

The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.

And now, through you, He still does.

Every snack made,

every tantrum handled with grace,

every moment you choose love over frustration,

it is Him, through you.

There is something sacred about play

There is something so sacred about getting on the floor and playing with your children.

It may feel small, it may feel ordinary, but it is not.

Because in those moments, you are not just playing, you are reflecting Christ.

Slow down, be present

You are showing patience,

you are offering presence,

you are choosing connection.

And in a world that rushes past these things, you are slowing down enough to be with them, just

like He is with you.

You don’t have to look far

Maybe the riseness of Christ is not just something we celebrate once a year.

Maybe it is something we experience daily, in the quiet, ordinary, holy moments of parenthood.

You do not have to search for Him in the big things.

He is already there.

In your home,

in your children,

in you.
